ToggleHow This Random Paragraph Generator Builds Text
I tested this random paragraph generator with every setting, and the logic is simpler than it looks. Each sentence is assembled in your browser from fixed word banks. No AI model writes the text.
Lorem Ipsum mode strings single Latin-style words into sentences. Cohesive English follows a template instead: a subject, an optional adverb, a verb, and an object. The banks hold 15 subjects, 15 verbs, 15 objects, 15 adjectives, and 8 adverbs.
A typical result: “The server quickly updates the secure database.” The grammar holds up, but the topics lean toward software and teamwork because of the banks.
Big requests run in batches of 50 paragraphs, so the page stays responsive. The Generate button spins while it works, and its label never changes.
Choosing a Text Type
The Text Type menu has five options. Here is what each one produces.
- Standard Lorem Ipsum: the default. Classic placeholder words in random order.
- Cohesive English (Meaningful): template-built sentences. As a random English paragraph generator, it suits mockups, not finished writing.
- Random English Words: words from the Lorem, subject, verb, and object banks with no grammar. Handy for scrambled-text tests.
- CJK (Simplified Chinese): despite the label, the bank holds Simplified Chinese terms only, joined without spaces.
- RTL (Arabic/Urdu): Arabic-script words for right-to-left checks. The RTL button flips the direction of the output box and preview.
The “Start with Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet…” toggle is on by default. It replaces the first sentence in Lorem, English, and Random modes. CJK and RTL ignore it.
CJK and RTL banks are for layout testing. They are not professionally translated or native-level text.
Set Length: Paragraphs, Sentences, Words
Three number fields set the size in this random paragraph generator. Paragraphs accept 1 to 100, sentences accept 1 to 20, and words per sentence accept 5 to 30. Type a number outside a range and the field snaps to the nearest valid value with a short message.
The math is simple. One paragraph tops out at 20 × 30 = 600 words. The full ceiling is 100 × 20 × 30 = 60,000 words. Those caps are firm.
Quick recipes (turn off the Lorem opening for exact counts):
| Target | Paragraphs | Sentences | Words per sentence |
|---|---|---|---|
| 100 words | 1 | 5 | 20 |
| 300 words | 1 | 10 | 30 |
| 500 words | 1 | 20 | 25 |
| 1,000 words | 2 | 20 | 25 |
Random Paragraph 1000 Words: The Multi-Paragraph Method
A single paragraph cannot reach 1,000 words, because this random paragraph generator caps each one at 600. Build the total across paragraphs instead. Set 2 paragraphs, 20 sentences, and 25 words: 2 × 20 × 25 = 1,000.
Other combinations work, such as 4 × 10 × 25 or 5 × 10 × 20. Then check the live Words card. Totals can drift slightly. The Lorem opening sentence has its own fixed length, and Random English Words mode can run high because some bank entries are two-word phrases.
Want one long block? Paste the text into Google Docs or Microsoft Word and delete the paragraph break. The output box is read-only.
Copy, Export, and HTML Output
For a random paragraph copy and paste workflow, press Copy Text. It copies the plain-text version of your result. Export TXT downloads a file named paragraphs.txt that contains whatever is in the output box, so it holds HTML code if HTML mode is on.
What HTML Mode Adds
Open the Formatting tab, switch on Output as HTML Code, and generate. The result uses standard <p> tags, as described in the MDN HTML paragraph element reference, so it pastes cleanly into most editors that accept HTML.
Three optional toggles add structure: heading labels, bullet lists, and placeholder links. They appear on some paragraphs, not every one. Headings are div elements, not h2 tags, and links point to #. Edit them to match your template.
Order matters. HTML is built when you press Generate. If you switch HTML on afterward, generate again before using Copy HTML. Otherwise a message asks you to enable HTML output first.
What the Preview Shows
The Preview tab of this random paragraph generator shows the first 50 paragraphs. On longer runs, a message says the preview is limited, but the output box still holds everything. The four stat cards count the full text. In HTML mode, the preview strips attributes and allows only basic elements, so treat it as a rough guide.
What Stays in Your Browser
Generated text is created in your browser and is not sent to our servers. Your tool settings (paragraph count, text type, dark mode, font size) are saved locally in your browser using localStorage for convenience. Normal website cookies and analytics may apply per our Privacy Policy.
There is no signup or login for this random paragraph generator. Clear All empties the output, preview, and counters. To remove saved settings, clear site data in your browser.
Practical Uses for US Users
Every random paragraph generator has trade-offs. These are the ones to know.
- Web and theme work: fill a WordPress or Ghost post template, or Shopify, Wix, and Squarespace product pages, to see how text wraps.
- Design tools: drop short blocks into Figma, Adobe XD, or Webflow text slots. Use long blocks for article layouts.
- Email and marketing: paste HTML output into an email template, or mock up a landing page before the real copy exists.
- Social and listings: the Characters card helps you eyeball length for LinkedIn, X, Instagram, YouTube descriptions, and Amazon or Etsy listing fields.
- Writing practice: need a random paragraph to write from? Generate Cohesive English text, then rewrite, expand, or edit it. Teachers can use it for editing drills.
Limits You Should Know
Every random paragraph generator has trade-offs. These are the ones to know.
- Hard caps: 100 paragraphs, 20 sentences, 30 words per sentence, and a 50-paragraph preview.
- Repetition: the word banks are small. Strict Unique Mode tries up to 50 times per sentence to avoid repeats, but it is best-effort.
- Template text: Cohesive English is not AI writing and is not guaranteed unique. At 30 words per sentence, stacked adjectives start to sound odd.
- Counting quirks: the Words card splits on spaces, so Chinese output, which has none between terms, will not match the number of terms.
- Read-only output: copy the text elsewhere to edit it.
Responsible Use
Use this random paragraph generator for placeholder and sample text in testing, drafting, and practice. Do not use it for spam, academic dishonesty, deceptive publishing, or SEO manipulation. Review and edit anything before you publish or submit it.
Before You Hit Generate
A random paragraph generator should save steps, not add them. Pick a text type, set the three numbers, and generate. If the result is close but not right, change one setting and run it again. The copy and export buttons are right there when you are ready.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q1: Can I generate 1,000 words in one paragraph?
No. One paragraph holds at most 600 words (20 sentences × 30 words). To reach about 1,000 words, create two or more paragraphs, for example 2 paragraphs × 20 sentences × 25 words = 1,000. Turn off the Lorem opening toggle if you need an exact total.
Q2: Can I copy and paste the random paragraphs?
Yes. Copy Text copies the plain-text version of your result. Copy HTML copies the markup, but only when Output as HTML Code is on and you have generated after enabling it.
Q3: Does this random paragraph generator work in English?
Yes. Cohesive English builds template-based sentences, and Random English Words mixes words with no grammar. Standard Lorem Ipsum, the default, uses Latin-style placeholder words.
Q4: Is my text sent to a server?
Generated text is created in your browser and is not sent to our servers. Your tool settings (paragraph count, text type, dark mode, font size) are saved locally in your browser using localStorage for convenience. Normal website cookies and analytics may apply per our Privacy Policy.
Q5: Can I export the text?
Yes. Export TXT downloads a file named paragraphs.txt with whatever is in the output box. If HTML output is on, the file contains HTML code.
Q6: Can I get HTML output?
Yes. Switch on Output as HTML Code in the Formatting tab, generate, then use Copy HTML. You can also add random heading labels, bullet lists, and placeholder links, which appear on some paragraphs.
Q7: Does it support Lorem Ipsum?
Yes. Standard Lorem Ipsum is the default text type. The “Start with Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet…” toggle is on by default and swaps the first sentence for the classic opening in Lorem, English, and Random modes.
Q8: Can I use it for school writing practice or blog drafts?
Yes, for practice and drafting. Do not submit generated text as your own work, and review and edit anything before you publish it. The text comes from word banks and templates, so it is not factual content.
Q9: What is the maximum number of paragraphs?
The limit is 100 paragraphs. With 20 sentences of 30 words each, that adds up to 60,000 words in total. The preview shows only the first 50 paragraphs, but the output box keeps the full text.

What to Do Next?
After generating your random paragraphs, many users find it helpful to double-check the length before pasting them into social media or CMS limits. Verifying word and character counts ensures everything fits perfectly. For detailed analysis, you can paste your output into our word counter or character counter. If you realized you only needed a short phrase rather than a full paragraph, our random sentence generator offers more granular control. Explore other utilities in our text tools.
